In 1998 our founder, Steve Gomez, began his quest to find some long lost high school friends he had misplaced throughout the years. His search was a time consuming and expensive task leading him all over the Internet. Most of the sites Steve was taken to, although free to sign up, often charged for the contact information they had graciously received free of charge from their patrons. He was distraught to find out that after paying their high fees and volunteering his own information, little or no information existed except for a few outdated scraps.

After many frustrations, Steve came up with the idea to create a free resource for finding and contacting lost friends. He envisioned a web site with no fees, up to date information, and even more detailed information than previously offered on the web. The site would sustain itself from the advertising dollar of other companies instead of passing its cost on to the users. From his small home office in Tallahassee, Florida he created AlumniExplorer.com, which has become the premiere alumni site on the Internet.
